A Weekend of Service and Smiles
Last weekend, a team from The Neighborhood Christian Clinic crossed the border to serve in Rocky Point, Mexico. It was dusty. It was hot. And it was holy.
Sabrina, our dental hygienist, and Blanca, our dental manager, led the charge. They were joined by Dr. Victor, Dr. Allison, and our incredible dental assistants Jackie and Jenny. In just one day, they treated 25 patients—many of whom had never been seen by a dentist in their life.
A Broken Tooth and a Beautiful Moment
One young boy had a broken front tooth. After treatment, he looked in the mirror, smiled wide, and softly said: “¡Qué bonito!”
Translation: How beautiful.
That moment summed up the entire trip. It wasn’t just about dental care—it was about restoring dignity and offering hope.
When the dental chair failed to spray water, Jackie and Jenny didn’t miss a beat. They did the work of both the machine and the assistant, adapting with skill and heart.
What This Mission Reminds Us
Dr. Victor later shared how much gratitude he felt—gratitude for what we have at The Clinic, and gratitude for supporters like you. Yes, we still have needs (like Dr. Allison’s wish list for a 3D printer to make crowns), but what we do have is thanks to you. Because of your generosity, our team can offer care that’s accessible, reliable, and filled with compassion.
From Phoenix to Rocky Point, our patients face the same barriers: no access to care, limited resources, and urgent need. But when the Church shows up, healing happens.
