“It’s Like Another Family—That’s What It Is”
A Story of Faith, Loss, and the Power of Compassionate Care
When German first came to The Neighborhood Christian Clinic, he didn’t know what to expect. His wife had already been receiving care—support that included a devastating cancer diagnosis, help with specialists, and, just as importantly, prayer.
Not long after, German noticed something was wrong. He was at work when he began peeing blood.
He came to the Clinic.
And what followed changed his life.
A Diagnosis That Could’ve Broken Him
Tests revealed cancer on his kidney. But from the very first moment, German wasn’t treated like a number or a diagnosis. He was seen, prayed for, and walked with.
He remembers Dr. Paul ordering labs and connecting him with the next steps. But he remembers something else, too—something even more powerful.
“You can tell—they love Jesus by the way they serve,” German says.
“It’s not just care… it’s family.”
Walking Through Loss, Held in Love
In time, German’s wife passed away from her illness. And yet, through the pain of losing her, German stayed close to the place that had walked with them both.
“God is giving me the strength… it’s the only reason I’m still going,” he says, voice trembling.
That strength wasn’t just physical. It was emotional. Spiritual. Rooted in Christ—and supported by a community that cared deeply.
Your Gifts Make This Possible
Because of you, German and so many others aren’t walking through suffering alone. They receive real medical care, yes—but they also receive something far more rare: dignity, love, and the presence of God in every exam room.
Every patient who sits in our chairs feels that difference. And every story like German’s is only possible because you help keep the doors open.
Watch His Story. Share His Hope.
German’s story is a powerful reminder that healing comes in many forms—and that no one has to suffer alone.
