On a rainy Friday morning, more than 40 friends of the Neighborhood Christian Clinic gathered at Phoenix Bible Church for our very first Prayer Breakfast. Though the skies were gray, hearts were full as we came together to praise God, seek His presence, and lift up the mission of the Clinic in prayer.
A highlight of the morning was Brad and Rebekah Bichsel from Christ’s Church of the Valley leading us in worship. Their song Gratitude filled the room as voices rose together in a resounding hallelujah — a moment of surrender and hope over our patients, staff, and the work God has called us to.
Together, we prayed for:
-
Patients — healing of body and mind, relief from fear and sleeplessness, and strength for those battling cancer.
-
Behavioral Health Launch — courage, wisdom, and Spirit-led breakthroughs as we prepare to expand care.
-
Clinic Staff and Volunteers — unity, compassion, stamina, and joy in serving.
-
Partners and Supporters — multiplied provision to continue caring for the underserved.
-
Leadership — wisdom and blessing as Angela Shope steps in as Executive Director, and gratitude for Gary Plooster’s faithful years of service.
As Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
We are deeply thankful to everyone who joined us, to Brad and Rebekah for their ministry in song, and especially to Phoenix Bible Church for graciously hosting this first Prayer Breakfast. We look forward with expectation to many more gatherings where we will continue to lift up our patients, our caregivers, and this ministry in prayer.
