Phoenix, AZ — December 2025 — This Christmas, Phoenix families and businesses can give a gift that doesn’t sit under a tree—but literally changes a neighbor’s life. The Neighborhood Christian Clinic (NCC) has launched its first annual “12 Gifts of Healing” holiday catalog, inviting the community to transform Christmas giving into Christ-centered medical, dental, and behavioral health care for uninsured and underserved families.
Instead of another sweater or gadget, donors can choose Gifts of Healing like Lifesaving Diabetic Care, Sponsor the Clinic for a Day, Lay a Foundation of Dignity through the Clinic Flooring Renewal project, or Speed Care with Digital Precision through a dental scanner. Each gift underwrites life-changing care delivered in Jesus’ name at NCC’s clinic in central Phoenix.
“We see patients every day who have delayed care for years because they simply can’t afford it,” said Angie Shope, Executive Director of the Neighborhood Christian Clinic. “The 12 Gifts of Healing catalog turns Christmas into an opportunity to say, ‘You are seen. You are worth excellent care. And God has not forgotten you.’”
In the last three years alone, more than 1,200 patients have come to the Clinic for diabetic care. Many arrive with dangerously high blood sugar, complications, and deep fear about the future. Through the catalog, donors help provide access to insulin donated via a generous partner, along with testing materials, education, and prayer so patients can stabilize their health and continue working and caring for their families.
One patient, Esperanza, came to the Clinic for dental care with every tooth infected and a bridge literally dangling. Routine screening revealed a blood sugar of 375—far too high for safe treatment. Grieving the loss of her daughter, she was battling depression as well as diabetes.
“Esperanza’s story captures what we see so often,” Shope said. “She didn’t just need dentures. She needed whole-person care—medical, dental, behavioral health, and spiritual care—hope, encouragement, and a care team who would pray with her and walk with her. As her diet improved, her blood sugar stabilized and her faith was renewed, she was finally able to receive the dental treatment she so desperately needed. That kind of transformation is what these gifts make possible.”
Curious what a Gift of Healing looks like in real life? One donor might Sponsor the Clinic for a Day, underwriting a full day of medical, dental, and spiritual care so uninsured families are welcomed, treated, and prayed for in Jesus’ name. Another might Give Lifesaving Diabetic Care, helping provide access to insulin, testing supplies, education, and prayer so patients can stabilize and keep working. Still another gift might Lay a Foundation of Dignity by renewing worn clinic floors that support more than 10,000 patient visits a year, or Speed Care with Digital Precision by helping equip the dental team with a digital oral scanner that makes visits faster, more accurate, and more comfortable. Together, these and other Gifts of Healing offer families, churches, and businesses a way for their Christmas giving to heal lives right here in Phoenix.

For Arizona taxpayers, NCC catalog gifts qualify for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit (QCO Code 20278)—up to $495 for individuals or $987 for married couples filing jointly. Gifts to NCC can reduce Arizona state tax liability dollar-for-dollar while providing care, comfort, and spiritual support to uninsured neighbors.
“We want people to experience the joy of giving a gift that heals and restores,” Shope said. “When someone chooses a Gift of Healing, there’s a patient on the other side of that generosity—someone who walks through our doors worried, and walks out knowing they are cared for in Jesus’ name.”
The 12 Gifts of Healing catalog is available now and will be featured throughout the Christmas season and on Giving Tuesday. Individuals, churches, and businesses are encouraged to use the catalog for alternative Christmas gifts, customer or employee recognition, and to demonstrate their commitment to the health and well-being of Phoenix’s workforce.
